Lease Return

Lease Agreement

Is your lease expiring soon? If this is your first lease or you could use a refresher, you might be wondering what your next steps are. You can expect to bring your car and other required items to a lease return center, and consider a few options for your next vehicle in Murrieta. Below, the finance specialists from Temecula Valley Toyota will go over what happens at the end of a car lease, so you can have a better idea of what to expect.

What Are Your Options?

You have three options once your lease ends. They are:

Return Your Vehicle

The first option is to simply return the car to a lease return. Whether you’re unsure about moving forward with another vehicle or you no longer need a vehicle in Lake Elsinore, all you’ll have to do is to just complete your lease return. Be sure to:

  • Turn in the car by the contract maturity date to avoid late fees.
  • Clean the interior and exterior of the vehicle, and remove personal items before returning the leased car.
  • Consider a professional detail or repairs.

Lease Or Purchase A New Vehicle

If you need a vehicle to commute around the area, then you’ll want to start a new lease or finance a car immediately after the lease return. Whether you’re leasing or buying your next ride, research your next model or browse our inventory. If you know which model you’d like beforehand, we can help you schedule a test drive.

Purchase Your Current Vehicle

Fell in love with your leased vehicle? You may request a buyout quote to see what you’ll need to own the car. If you choose the buyout option, you can continue to drive your car without interruptions. You will not be responsible for any excess mileage charges, disposition fee, or excess wear and use. Once the payment has been processed, a title release form will be sent to you.

What Are the Steps to Returning a Leased Car?

Before you head on over to a lease return center, be sure you have the following items ready:

  • Vehicle inspection report
  • Repair receipts
  • Keys/spare keys
  • Owner’s manual
  • Maintenance records

When the day for your visit arrives, this is what you can expect when returning a lease car near Menifee:

  1. You’ll drop off your vehicle at our dealership.
  2. One of our specialists will inspect the vehicle for damage, overall quality, and other important factors.
  3. Any extra miles on the odometer that exceed the restrictions or any wear and tear are subject to penalty fees. You’ll have to pay those fees.
